My sister and I stayed here, and it was honestly one of the best hostels I've been to! It was in a great central downtown location and had two levels of security to access individual rooms, so we felt super safe. We stayed in a 14 person, all-female dorm room, which had black-out curtains, huge lockers for travel bags, separate and clean bathrooms and showers with hairdryers, and lots of room to move around, even with lots of people in the space! They have a super cute lobby and common area with an attached kitchen and included breakfast! Honestly, I am so glad we picked this hostel for our trip and will definitely be recommending it to anyone else staying in Toronto!

If you are staying in a hostel, you are going to have some tradeoffs. Sleeping was okay and I opted for a six bed room. No issues of concerns or safety inside. Breakfast was simple (In a good way!) and appreciated. Some people will complain about the location as a park is right across from it with some interesting characters but, having spent ample time around there, there wasn't profound safety concerns. You are saving a substantial amount of money than other places remotely close to the downtown, after all. If you want a hotel room, pony up the money elsewhere. If you want to end up downtown at a reasonable price to experience Toronto, I would indeed recommend the Clarence Park. Close to convenience stores as well. Both cheap and fancy spots within a few blocks as well for food. Also, the bathroom near the checkin desk and group kitchen is cute but so small that some bathroom stalls would give it a run for its money. Loved it but definitely gave off "Harry Potter under the staircase" vibes.

Overall, it is excellent for the price they charge. I lived in a 14-bed room, including lockers for each person, two washrooms and two showers. The room was clean. For the 14 bed room, there's no table or chair. Nevertheless, before entering the bedroom, there's a small lounge outside, which is kinda nice if you need a seat or not wanna to bother others. For the shower, I wish there was an additional rack beside the sink cause I couldn't find a place to put all the things I need. In addition, the hair dryer is kinda loud and not so strong to dry hair; I hope they can install a better one. I think The Clarence Park is a great Hostel, and I will definitely come back if I come to Toronto in the future! Especially if you are solo and would like to meet some random people, great way to meet others! The only thing I think needs to be considered is the not so good noise insulation. Especially having the possibility of living with 13 other guests who have different schedules. A little sound can wake you up at night! If someone is taking a shower at night, like 12 am, you can hear it!!! They also have a common kitchen with shared kitchenware and fridge to store any food you have. Breakfast is also served from 8-10am. However, breakfast is nothing fancy but cereals and toast with butter or jam. Also, the milk for cereal went out so fast; I was there at about 8:40, and the milk was already gone.

Bro all the people who rated one stars are such losers. If you’re staying at a hostel you are likely a traveller who can sacrifice certain standards and make sacrifices, especially for the price you’re paying. But even then, this place is really nice and clean and the guy who checked me in was suuuper friendly and helpful when I asked him 40 questions. People complaining abt the homeless are pretentious privileged people who need to wake up to the reality of wanting to stay in the literal heart of a big city. This place is right next to the CN tower so in terms of location it’s exactly where u want to be to explore the city. I stayed in a 4 bed female only hostel and I have zero complaints. There were big lockers to keep your belongings in, the beds had curtains on all sides, there’s a nice lamp and many charging ports inside your little nook and the shower is good and clean and everything looks really cozy. There was also a massive full body mirror cause they know what girls need to survive. The pictures are not misleading. If you want a cute cheap place to stay for a few nights in the city (which is extremely hard to find - Toronto is expensive, people!) then don’t even think twice and just book it. (For reference I paid about 60-70$ for a night)

I had a great stay at The Clarence Park Hostel. The staff were very nice and always helpful, which made the experience even better. The service overall was excellent. The location couldn’t be more convenient, right downtown, close to everything. The facilities were also good, clean, and well-maintained. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-located place to stay in the city.
